This guide explains privacy choices for UkaMart Global Ltd (RC1532291) services. Device permissions control access to a device feature; separate privacy choices control optional uses such as analytics or advertising. Allowing one purpose does not authorise every other purpose. The Privacy Notice in Document 1 gives the fuller explanation of data handling.
1 Camera
Camera access supports actions you choose, such as photographing a product, uploading evidence or recording content. We request access when you select a camera feature, not simply because you open the app. Camera permission is not permission for facial recognition or background recording.
Choose Allow or Not now in the device prompt. If you decline, you can type information or select an existing image where supported. Remove access in your device's app-permission settings. Already uploaded files remain subject to the Privacy Notice and your deletion rights.
2 Microphone
Microphone access supports audio or video recording you initiate and authorised LIVE features where available. We explain the feature before requesting permission. UkaMart does not record calls or use microphone permission as consent to passive listening.
You can decline and use text or other available formats. Revoking permission prevents future microphone access by the app; it does not automatically delete content previously uploaded.
3 Photos and videos
Photo access lets you choose existing media for a listing, profile, post or support case. Use the operating system's selected-photo or file-picker option where available instead of granting broader access unnecessarily.
We do not treat permission to select a file as permission to upload your entire library. You can remove access in device settings. Check images for private information and remove unnecessary faces, addresses, payment details or location metadata before sharing publicly.
4 Location
Approximate area helps show relevant services; you can enter a city or address manually. A delivery address is different from continuous GPS tracking. A public listing location need not disclose a private home or exact device location.
Precise location is requested only for an identified feature with a clear explanation. Background location needs a separate explanation of why it is necessary, when collection occurs, who receives it, when it stops and how long data remains. Permission while using the app does not authorise background access.
Refusing optional GPS must not prevent ordinary browsing. Revoke access in device settings or contact privacy@ukamart.com. Raw precise-location events are retained no longer than 30 days after the feature session, except relevant lawful evidence separately retained under Document 1. Under-18 accounts do not use background location or location-based advertising.
5 Notifications
OneSignal supports delivery of push notifications. Device permission lets the app display notifications; marketing consent is a separate choice. You may allow order or security notifications while refusing promotional messages where supported.
Turn off push access in device settings or adjust the available message categories. Essential account or order information may still be sent through another appropriate channel. Lock-screen previews can expose private information; use your device's preview controls if needed.
6 Analytics
Optional analytics helps assess use and improve features. Technologies may include Meta or Facebook, GA4 and TikTok, subject to the disclosed purpose and consent settings. Essential security or operational logs are distinguished from optional analytics.
Choose Accept or Reject for optional analytics without losing ordinary account access. Rejecting optional analytics stops the corresponding optional collection and transmission. Revisit the preference or contact privacy@ukamart.com to withdraw. Optional analytics event retention is up to 14 months under Document 1.
7 Personalisation
Recommendations may use preferences and activity to select products or content. Optional behavioural personalisation is separate from functions needed to display your cart, fulfil an order or protect your account.
You may refuse optional profiling and receive an experience based on general relevance. Where legitimate interests support a particular recommendation function, you can object and ask for an explanation. We do not infer sensitive characteristics for advertising targeting.
8 Marketing preferences
Choose separately among offered promotional email, SMS, messaging and push channels. An order or guardian-consent process is not permission for unrelated marketing. No optional channel is preselected.
Use the unsubscribe instruction, available preference control or privacy@ukamart.com. We stop future direct marketing use after your objection and retain only necessary suppression information to honour it. Important transactional communications remain distinct.
9 Cookies and similar technologies
Essential technologies support requested functions such as sign-in, cart continuity and security. Optional analytics, advertising and personalisation choices are presented separately with understandable purposes and recipients.
The website provides equally accessible Accept optional and Reject optional choices and a way to manage categories. Refusal does not require more effort than acceptance. Browser cookie settings are additional controls but may affect essential functions if you block everything.
A preference applies to the scope explained when you make it. Signing in may synchronise supported account choices, but we do not pretend a device-only permission automatically changes every device. You can ask us to apply a withdrawal across the account.
10 Advertising technologies and audience matching
Meta, Google and TikTok advertising technologies may send disclosed events or customer identifiers to match audiences and measure campaigns, only under the relevant consent. Hashing an email or telephone number does not make it anonymous.
Audience matching is a separate choice from ordinary account use and necessary transaction processing. Rejecting it stops future uploads for that purpose and triggers removal from lists within UkaMart's control. We explain provider processing time and any lawful limit on deleting earlier records. Under-18 accounts are excluded from behavioural advertising and audience matching.
These providers may process data abroad. International access requires a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards; accepting a cookie banner does not replace those requirements. Ask privacy@ukamart.com for relevant recipient, country and safeguard information.
11 Privacy choices and requests
Manage permissions: open your device's app settings for camera, microphone, photos, location and notifications. Available labels vary by device. Device revocation prevents future access but does not itself erase an account or all previously submitted data.
Download your data: request an accessible copy from privacy@ukamart.com or the available account privacy control. We verify identity proportionately, protect other people's information and provide eligible portable data in a commonly used format. Downloading data does not close the account.
Correct information: update editable profile or address details through available controls, or ask the privacy team to correct inaccurate records. Some transaction records may need an auditable correction rather than silent replacement.
Delete account: request closure through an available account-deletion control or email privacy@ukamart.com. Uninstalling the app is not deletion. We explain any outstanding order or lawful retention, remove active profile records within 30 calendar days of verified closure, and retain only records justified under Document 1. A debt or dispute is not a reason to retain every unrelated data category indefinitely.
Retention summary: public content active displays are removed within 7 calendar days and active-system deletion completes within 30; ordinary messages remain for 12 months; support and safety files for 12 months after closure; routine security logs for 90 days; relevant transaction and tax records for 6 years subject to law; backups expire after 7 days. A documented legal hold preserves only relevant information and is reviewed.
Marketing and advertising choices: withdraw by channel or purpose, including audience matching. A request to stop marketing is not a request to delete a pending order. We keep the minimum suppression record needed to respect your decision.
Object or request human review: contact privacy@ukamart.com about legitimate-interest processing or significant automated decisions. Final bans, significant commerce restrictions and adverse payout decisions receive meaningful human review; support@ukamart.com handles the operational appeal.
Response process: we acknowledge privacy requests within 2 business days and aim to complete them within 30 calendar days of receipt, or sooner if law requires. We explain proportionate verification and any legally permitted extension before the original deadline expires. We normally do not charge. We explain a lawful limitation and your complaint route.
Security incidents: we investigate and contain suspected breaches, preserve evidence, and notify the NDPC within the applicable 72-hour period where the statutory risk threshold is met. Affected individuals are informed without undue delay where required. Contact privacy@ukamart.com if you suspect unauthorised access or disclosure.
12 Children accessibility and meaningful choice
Users must be at least 15. For ages 15–17, we ask a parent or legal guardian to confirm authority and consent through a verified process before activation and relevant processing. Public posting needs the guardian's specific authorisation for the limited content licence. Disabling advertising alone does not replace guardian consent.
Under-18 users cannot sell, receive payouts, join Promote and Earn or host LIVE. Purchases must be made by an adult through the adult's own account. We apply age-appropriate explanations, restricted unsolicited contact and minimised location access.
Choices use plain language, readable labels and accessible controls. Optional settings start off and remain easy to change. Declining optional permissions does not block unrelated core functions. Where a feature genuinely cannot work without particular data, we explain that limitation and any available alternative.
Contact privacy@ukamart.com for privacy or guardian questions and support@ukamart.com for general help. You may complain directly to the NDPC at https://ndpc.gov.ng/ or use an available legal remedy without first completing our internal process.
For these service targets, business days mean Monday to Friday excluding Nigerian public holidays. Calendar days include weekends and holidays. Any shorter mandatory legal deadline takes priority.
